Le calisson d'Aix du Roy René
For centuries, the calisson d'Aix-en-Provence has been cultivating an unchanged tradition. Each Le Roy René confectioner perpetuates a precious heritage, carefully combining finely ground almonds, candied Provencal melon and orange peel, placed on a fine wafer and then coated with a royal glaze.
Today, the recipe has been enriched with a strong commitment: 50% almonds from Provence in each calisson, for even greater authenticity and flavour, straight from the land.
Presented in an elegant rectangular box, this calisson combines tradition, refinement and practicality, perfect for giving as a gift or for treasuring.
Our commitment
La confiserie du Roy René is a key player in the revival of the almond industry in Provence. A founding member of the steering committee dedicated to this project, it has helped to structure the industry and plant thousands of almond trees, increasing the proportion of Provençal almonds in its recipes fivefold since 2014.Committed to an eco-responsible approach, the House is raising public awareness of the need to preserve the environment and biodiversity, in particular through the creation of an agroecological almond grove and a heritage orchard around its factory in Aix-en-Provence.
